+ Typically new asphalt can be driven on 3 days after paving. Avoid parking on new asphalt for balance of the week or next 4 days. This time can be shortened in cooler weather.
+ Side and rear load garages and drives with turn-a-rounds are susceptible to power steering scuff marks if driver turns power steering without car moving. This is more prevalent in hot temperatures.
+ The earliest new asphalt can be sealed is 4 to 6 weeks. If cars are maintained well and gas and oil leakage is minimal, driveway sealing could be put off until the following year.
+ Salt will not damage sealer but can be detrimental to unsealed asphalt if applied heavily year after year on aging unsealed asphalt. Ultra violet rays from the sun are the worst enemy to unsealed asphalt.
+ Caustic car and tire cleaners should be rinsed will from asphalt surface.
Avoid bike kick stands, tire jacks and firewood racks that have sharp pointed bases.
